If you are using Linux, Mac or Windows you may have noticed Chrome Apps have disappeared from the Google Play Store recently.
There has been a change in the service where certain apps are no longer available, however, they are still there. If you are using a Chromebook you still see the APPS on the left side bar.
Cloud computing is steadily growing and these apps are taking a different turn to include working offline, sending notifications and connecting to hardware. Less people really use packaged apps anymore and moving toward an online experience instead.
In late 2016, new Chrome apps will only be available for Chrome OS and Chromebooks.
This said, your favorite apps will no longer visible are still there and may be supported by the original publishers.
