In my opinion, Live Start Page is awesome. This utility is available on all platforms as it becomes part of your Google Chrome Browser but with the star being wallpaper within the browser.

This comes standard on all Chromebooks and comes in very handy for simple calculations.
The Chromebook shelf located at the bottom of the screen is where you will find your programs, updates, time, sound, battery and your login logo if you have one.
The shelf is easily customized to suite your daily needs.
On the lower right part of your screen you will find notification area showing any notifications (when active), Time, WiFi Status and your Avatar.
Apps (links) are a very important part of Chromebooks. You will notice some standard apps are already setup on your Shelf such as Chrome Web Browser, Gmail, Link to Google Docs and Youtube.
This is one of the most useful notepad I’ve used, the key thing for me is it’s directly linked to my Google drive, so when I make changed and save them it saves directly to my cloud storage.
Google docs is a free cloud based office suite. It’s compatible with most other major office suites for business and personal use and I use both the docs and sheets on a regular basis.
One day I went to a local Office Supply chain with a huge red sign to look into Chromebooks. I saw they had all kinds of tower and desktop PC’s, around seventeen laptops and about five tablets but sadly saw no Chromebooks.
